Jaimini's Yogada for Timing Success - PartB
Continuing with the theme of royalties and politicians, Chart 3 is Queen Victoria of England. She ruled for 63 years and her reign was called the Victorian era due to the prosperity and industrialization that took place in her time. Her rule commenced in June of 1837. In Chara Dasha, it was the Aries period. Now did you notice any thing special with regards to this period? Aries has two benefics and Jupiter another benefic falls in the 10th from it. So from Aries, the Kendras have only benefics in them. Also Jupiter here is doubly important, it becomes the AmK falling in the 10th from Aries. Now the most important part with regard to this paper, Jupiter becomes a true Yogada, aspecting the HL, GL BL, natal Ascendant and the 7th house. It was the Aries period with Jupiter, planet placed in the 10th from it, when she became queen.

Chart 3: Queen Victoria: Born May 24, 1819 at 4h. 04m. London, UK (51 N 30, 00 W 07)
Chart 4: Barrack Obama: Born August 4, 1961. At 7h. 24m. at Honolulu, Hawaii, USA (21 N 8, 157 W)
Figure 2
The last illustration in the line of politicians and rulers is that of former President Barack Obama (Chart 4). To truly appreciate Obama's chart one has to look at his Navamsa where most of the planets have great dignity. But sticking to the natal chart, he became the President in 2008. It was his Aquarius period. Focus on Mars in the 8th house, which is 7th from Aquarius. He becomes a Yogada planet aspecting the HL, GL and the natal Ascendant. This is a very important factor which should not be overlooked.

Staying in the stratosphere of royalties but taking it down a notch brings one to a celebrity, Hollywood movie star John Travolta (Chart 5). Travolta was a struggling actor and singer in Hollywood in the early seventies. He played a character in the TV series, Welcome back, Kotter, but his stardom was unremarkable compared to what he achieved shortly afterwards. In 1977, became a sensation with Saturday Night Fever and then in 1978 he cemented his fame with the release of Grease. Both films were amongst the most commercially successful films of the decade. This breakthrough came in Taurus Dasa. There are many factors for this, AmK Mercury in the 10th along with the Sun the planet of celebrity. The Moon is in the 4th house, a Kendra, and Venus and Mercury in the 10th house, again a Kendra from Taurus, but what should also be noticed is that Jupiter in Taurus along with all the planets in Aquarius are Yogada planets. So now there is a Yogada planet in the house whose Dasa is in operation and then, three planets in the 10th from the Dasa period. It simply was a fantastic period for him. John Travolta has had success even afterwards, but never came close to the stardom that was achieved during the Taurus period.

Chart 5: John Travolta: Born February 18, 1954 at 2h.53m. at Englewood, New Jersey, USA (40 N 53, 73 W 58)
Chart 6: Marilyn Monroe: Born June 1, 1926 at 9h.30m. Los Angles, California, USA (34 N 03, 118 W 15).
Figure 3

Chart 6 is of Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe. Do you see the similarity with that of John Travolta's horoscope? Like Travolta she too has Cancer rising and her AmK Mars goes to the 8th house. From Taurus, which has a benefic, there is AmK in the 10th with another benefic Jupiter. Now focus on Taurus. It has GL, Mercury as well as Sun aspecting the GL, natal Ascendant and the HL in Libra. It was exactly her Taurus period which kick started her ascent from relative obscurity to immortal fame.

Moving on from Hollywood but still keeping up with the stars, here is one who certainly achieved baseball immortality. Pete Rose, (Chart 7) who holds the record for the maximum number of hits in major league baseball along with a whole host of records. Do you notice any thing unusual about his horoscope? There are three exalted planets and three debilitated planets. Since his Ascendant is Pisces, a dual sign, containing his GL, HL and BL, so all the planets in Pisces, namely, Mercuy and Venus will become true Yogadas. Do you want to guess which period brought him the stardom? You would be absolutely correct if you guessed Gemini, from where both Yogada planets fall in the 10th, plus there is an unobstructed Argala from Jupiter, Saturn and the Sun from the 2nd house, exalted Mars from the 11th and the Moon from the 9th house. It was indeed a superb period for Pete Rose where he won 3 world series and was the MVP of the national league. His team in the 70's, the Cincinnati Reds, are considered one of the best teams of all time.

Chart 7: Born: April 14, 1941 at 5h.45m. at Cincinnati, Ohio, USA (39 N 09, 84 W 27).
Chart 8: M.S. Dhoni: Born July 7, 1981 at 11h.15m. at Ranchi, Jharkhand (23 N 21, 85 E 20)
figure 4

Here is another case (Chart 8) with a dual sign Ascendant and that too, of a sportsperson from a different field Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Indian cricket team. His horoscope is very powerful with the Moon being aspected by four planets forming a tremendous Jaimini Raja Yoga. His HL is in Saggitarius and BL as well as GL are in Virgo, so all the planets in Virgo and Gemini become Yogadas. From a relative outsider, Dhoni not only captured the imagination of the team but also that of the entire country. You guessed it right, it happened in the Sagittarius period from where three jof the five Yogada planets fall in the 10th and the remaining two aspect the 10th. As mentioned before as well, the Yogada planet is not the only factor, but I truly believe it is one of the major contributors to a period which can promise great results under the right circumstances.

My research studies show that one should definitely make a note of the signs containing the Yogada planets. If the planets have strength and there are other factors supporting a career rise, then the results can be quite spectacular. These periods can represent something of a peak in a person's life, making one a star.

How to understand the Conjunctions ?

Conjunctions are very fascinating feature in astrology. They are not only beautiful and powerful, but also they give different results in every chart. It is a very complicated subject and an astrologer has to spend a lot of time and energy in decoding the meaning of those conjunctions. Rahu and Ketu can never be in conjunction other than some divisional charts . These two planets always

Significance of Numerology

The significance of numbers in a person’s life or on a place or thing is what Numerology deals with. It is the stream of study that reveals or decodes the information numbers provide about a person. The Numerology based Name recommendation is based on this significance of numbers to the alphabets or the letters in a person’s name.

Among the various systems of Numerology, the Chaldean or Mystic Numerology and the Pythagorean or the Modern numerology are the two widely used systems. The Pythagorean system is easier and is commonly used. The Chaldean system, though difficult to master, is believed to be more accurate. Though distinct in their own tracks, both these systems agree in certain things such as the necessity of the compatibility of a person’s name with his/her date of birth.

Chaldean and Pythagorean Systems
The name chosen by using Chaldean System gives a more metaphysical flavor to the destiny interwoven into the person's character. Irrespective of the Pythagorean system, on analyzing the name of a person, the Chaldean system uses the most common name or the name by which the person is usually known. The Pythagorean system only uses the original name. The basic assumption of Chaldean Numerology is that every letter has a unique vibration. In this system, numbers are assigned to letters based on the vibration value. While, in the Pythagorean Numerology, numbers are assigned by sequence.

History of Chaldean System
Chaldean System of Numerology was originated in Chaldea – a civilization existed between late 10th or early 9th and mid-6th century BC. The Chaldean who resided in the southern part of Babylonia have made a wide range of contributions to various science fields, especially to Astrology and Numerology. This system of Numerology is related to the Vedic System of India and the Kabbalah System of the Hebrew mystics.

Chaldean Number Values
In Chaldean Number system, just the numbers 1 to 8 are taken into account as the number 9 is considered to be sacred and is held apart from the rest. This system takes the commonly known name of the person into the analysis. It also considers the date of birth of the person.

The Chaldean System, in addition to the assessment of the single number, also takes into account the compound or double numbers. It lets you get familiar with the Compound number which represents the deeper and hidden metaphysical influences behind a name. The single number simply represents the physical, outward appearance of a person's name.

Divisional Charts
The classic Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra provides useful hints to an important question that should trouble astrologers with rational thinking - "Why are there so many twins in this world who have the same Rasi chart and possibly the same Navamsa chart, but significantly different lives".

Parasara has defined divisional charts and expounded the matters to be seen from each divisional chart, right after he defines the nature of planets and the nature of signs and before he elucidates the results of various houses.

It indicates that Parasara considers the divisional charts to be as basic an ingredient in the scheme of Jyotisha as the planets, signs and houses. It is evident that he considers these four to be the four dimensions of Jyotisha.

After stating that education may be seen in the Chaturvimsamsa chart and that vehicles may be studied-from the Shodasamsa, for example, Parasara indicates that the 4th house stands for education and vehicles. It seems logical to think that he means that the 4th house in Chaturvimsamsa stands for education and learning and the 4th house in Shodasamsa stands for vehicles. Unless Parasara had meant houses and divisional charts to be two separate dimensions, he would not have assigned the same matter to a house and to a divisional chart. This suggests that he considered the 4th houses in various divisional charts, for example, to be the variations of the same house. When he says "4th house" in the rest of the discourse, he could have meant any variation, i.e., 4th house in any divisional chart, with the correct variation inferred from the nature of the matter at hand and the divisional chart relevant to that matter.

Another factor favouring the above notion is that he has defined divisional charts while replying to Maitreya's query:

Srutaa graha gunaastwattastathaa
raasi gunaana mune
Srotumichchhaami bhaavanaam
bhedaanstaan kripayaa vada

O Sage! I have heard from you the nature of planets and the nature of signs. I want to hear about the different kinds of houses. Kindly explain them to me.

By answering the question on the "variations of houses" with the definition of 16 divisional charts, Parasara may have implied that the houses in the 16 divisional charts are the different kinds of houses. For example: There are 16 different 4th houses - (1) 4th house in Rasi (2) 4th house in Navamsa (3) 4th house in Dasamsa etc. When Parasara says "4th house" in the rest of the discourse, he would not have to clarify which variation he meant, for he has listed the matters to be judged from various divisional charts prior to listing the results of houses.

Once it is accepted that each divisional chart has its own houses and it should be analysed for insight into certain matters, new avenues are opened for astrological analysis. Astrology can then attempt to address the "twins question" in a systematic manner. For example, this scribe came across the charts of twin brothers of whom the elder one was brilliant at studies and the younger one was a mediocre student. Though both have the same Rasi chart, they have different Ascendants in the Chaturvimsamsa. the chart for education. In the Chaturvimsamsa. the elder one has Ascendant lord Venus is a trine in Gemini, a Mercurian sign, with Mercury situated in the 5th, aspected by the 5th lord, while the younger one has both the Ascendent lord and the 5th lord, debilitated. Moreover, the elder one has the Moon and Jupiter in the 4th, aspected by Mars and he studied commerce and accounting. The younger one was good at mathematics despite poor marks in all other subjects and he has Mercury in the 4th. Thus analyzing the relevant divisional chart offers a finer insight than studying the Rasi chart alone and the former approach can offer convincing explanation in the case of twins with significantly different lives.

Each planet represents various forces in action in each human experience. Each Rasi represents various fundamental angles of human experience and action. Each house represents various matters of relevance in human beings. Each divisional chart represents various matters focused on a particular sphere of human experience (e.g., fortune and assets, parents, learning and intellect, children, siblings etc.) These four dimensions together uniquely represent human life. Of the various matters attributed to each house, matters relevant to the sphere of human experience represented by the divisional chart under study have to be considered. For example the 6th in Navamsa may represent quarrels in marital life, the 6th house in Chaturtamsa may represent litigation involving property and the 6th in Dasamsa may represent rivals in profession.

2. Computaion of Nakshatramsas
Divisional charts like the Saptama, Dasamsa and  Dwadasamsa are widely employed by contemporary astrological savants but some higher divisional charts seem to be rarely utilised. Nakshatramsa chart is one such chart.
Nakshatramsa is also called Bhamsa or Saptavimsamsa. Each rasi is divided into 27 equal parts and Nakhathramsa corresponding to these 27 parts extend from Aries , cancer, Libra or Capricorn depending on whether the rasi is fiery, earthy, airy, watery sign respectively.

Nor example, let us suppose that a planet (or Ascendant) is at 22 degree 7minutes Aquarius . Aquarius is an airy sign and so we must start counting from Libra. Each nakshatramsa is 30/27 degrees and hence the 20th Nakshatramsa extends from 21degree 6min 67sec to 22degree 13min 33sec. Counting the 20th house from Libra, we get Taurus. I shall refer to the Nakshatramsa chart as D-27 henceforth.

3. Significations of Nakshatramsa
Purasara has said,
Bhaamse chaiva balaabalam
One's strengths and weaknesses should be judged from D-27.

A question that usually strikes the curious readers could be regarding the accuracy of the data used. Higher divisional charts are very sensitive to birth-time errors. The Ascendant in D-27 changes sign once every 4.44 minutes, on the average. So we cannot be confident that the Ascendant evaluated using the reported birth-time is always correct.

I have considered Kalachakra Dasa, which typically changes by 3 months if birth-time changes by 1 minute. Using it along with Yogini Dasa (See (1), (6) and (7) and Vimshottari Dasa (See 1) with several divisional charts, I was able to rectify reported birth-times finely, based on known events.

The consistent theme found in these studies is that D-27 highlights the salient features of one's nature and offers insights into one's personality, inherent strengths and weaknesses. It is a better indicator than even the Rasi chart, when it comes to studying one's ' inherent nature and tendencies.

4. Analysis of Nakshatramsa
D-27 should be analysed just like the Rasi chart. Each Rasi is a house. Houses can be counted from the Ascendent or the Moon or the Ghati Lagna. Concepts like planetary aspects, sign aspects, Yogas and Argalas etc., work just like in the Rasi chart. However, the sphere of human experience represented by this chart is one's inherent nature and of all the meanings of various houses, meanings consistent with this should be considered. For example, the 9th house does not stand for father or fortune in foreign lands or teacher or the 3rd child or wife's younger brother. It rather stands for generosity (Datrittwa).

We should judge the interactions between planets, Rasis and houses in D-27 just like in the Rasi chart. If the 7th lord is in the 6th aspected by Mars for example, it may suggest lack of diplomacy and tendency to get involved in quarrels. If the Ascendant lord is exalted with the Moon and Jupiter in the 4th, it may suggest an excellent level pf peace of mind.

To give a real-life example, Albert Gore Jr4., a past Vice President of the USA, has the Ascendant and Mars in Scorpio and the Sun in the 7th in D-27. Ruchaka Yoga in Scorpio may have made him aggressive, ambitious, somewhat secretive and always pursuing loftier goals. It may have even given him some kind of aloofness5. The sign crucial to his pro-active and enterprising nature Scorpio has the 5th house and Yogakaraka Mars in Dasama and thus his pro-active nature has been put to good use in his career.

Just as the links between various houses are analysed, the links between various divisional charts may also be analysed. Planets and signs act as links between charts and house. For example, a native has an afflicted Sun in D-27 in Pisces which indicates some egotism. He has the 6th house in Pisces in Dasamsa. the chart of profession. He is very nice to others, but he is very egoistic and arrogant when dealing with his professional rivals.

If there are signs'or planets that show strong influences that are not consistent with the overall theme of the rest of the chart, corresponding changes in attitude may be observed during the Dasas of those planets and signs. Especially potent are Dasas pertaining to benefic planets that are particularly afflicted and the Nodes. It is observed that Kalachakra Dasa gives the best results.

5. Practical Illustrations
Twins-Satyam and Shivam:
Facts: Satyam is very optimistic and has a jovial and amicable disposition. Shivam, on the other hand, is somber and serious. He is a skeptic and has little belief in astrology and such other disciplines.

Satyam : Chart 1 gives D-27. It must be noted that Satyam's D-27 has Ascendant lord Mercury in the Ascendant, causing a powerful Bhadra Yoga. Mercury is in Jupiter's Nakshatra. and in a Venusian sign in the Rasi chart and unafflicted in D-27. Thus Bhadra Yoga is powerfully operative in his D-27. This can bless him with optimism and a jovial and amicable disposition. The Moolatrikona is also indicative of such attitudes. Venus also occupies a constellation of Jupiter. The Moon has Neechabhanga. Mercury's strong influence can cause him to be always happy, helpful to relatives and respect tradition. With the 7th lord in D-27 Jupiter, being in own constellation and Venusian sign, both in Rasi and D-27, he is diplomatic and compassionate.

Shivam: On the other hand, the Ascendant in Shivam's D-27 is Cancer and the Ascendant lord is debilitated, aspected by the 6th lord. The lord of the 5th and the dispositor of the Ascendant lord, Mars is afflicted by Ketu and he is in mutual aspect with the 7th and 8th lord Saturn. This suggests a serious person in whom a curious mixture of gloom and anger resides. The situation of the 8th lord Saturn and Rahu in the 9th in an aspect with the 5th lord indicates skepticism and it makes sense that he does not believe in astrology. With the 7th lord in D-27, Saturn, being with Rahu aspected by Mars, he may be brash and lack the diplomacy of Satyam.

An Indian Engineer in the USA
Facts: The native of Chart 2 is extremely generous, righteous and noble. He is a dynamic person and comes across as an intellectual. He is diplomatic, but when under pressure, he can turn a little harsh. He turned somewhat pessimistic and angry later on in life, when he experienced very harsh events and those he trusted deceived him and nearly destroyed his life.

Chart 2 gives his D-27. The Ascendant in Aries suggests dynamism. Mercury, the 3rd lord, is in the Ascendant. The lord of the 9th and 12th Jupiter is exalted in a quadrant without any afflictions, giving rise to a powerful Hamsa Yoga and causing Argala on the Ascendant (See 3). So he is very generous, compassionate, righteous and noble, with the 7th house falling in Libra and with a diplomatic nature. However, with the 6th lord occupying the Ascendant in a fiery sign, with Rahu occupying the 2nd and with the 7th lord Venus joining Mars in a Saturnine sign, with Argala from Saturn and Rahu, he is capable of acting in a brazen manner at times. The Sun in the 6th aspected by Saturn suggests proneness to quarrels with authorities. The 2nd house stands for one's manners. It is Taurus here and it is occupied by Rahu, who also causes Argala to its lord Venus in Aquarius. The 6th house Virgo has the Sun in it and Saturn aspecting it and its lord is in the Ascendant. The said change in his behavior took place during the Bhukti of Virgo in the Dasa of Taurus as per Kalachakra Dasa. Rahu's Yogini Dasa was running then. The correlations here are interesting.

Bill Clinton
Chart 4: Bill Clinton: Born August 19, 1946 at 8 h. 53 m (6 hours behind GST) at 33 N 40, 93 W 46.
Chart 3&4

Facts: Clinton comes across as a smart and intelligent person. He is charming and ambitious. He recently "repented" for the "sin" of "misleading" and "letting down" his nation and family on a scandal.

There is a Yoga called Asatyavadi Yoga that comes into effect when the 5th lord is in a sign owned by Mars of Saturn. If primarily Mercury and secondarily, the Ascendant lord and the Moon also occupy such signs, the indications become more intense. Chart 3 may be found to satisfy these criteria. The situation of the Ascendant lord in a Saturnine sign and mutual aspect between Mars in the Ascendant and Saturn may indicate selfishness and aggression.

Despite the 5th lord in a Dustana, aspected by Saturn, and the situation of Ketu in the 5th, Jupiter in the 5th acts as a stabilizing factor as far as emotional stability is concerned.

The 7th lord Jupiter in Libra with an aspect from the 2nd lord Moon suggests diplomatic knack. Venus in Scorpio in the 6th may give him susceptibility to sexual scandals. Interestingly, be was running the Bhukti of Scorpio in 1999 as per Kalachakra Dasa.

An Egoist
Facts: The native is well-known for his achievements in some circles. He lacks diplomacy and he is highly egoistic and self-centered in his social behaviour. But he is religiously inclined.

Chart 4 gives his D-27. The Ascendant contains the Sun who is afflicted by Ketu, Jupiter's aspect is a saving grace, but Jupiter is a functional malefic. The affliction to the Sun in the Ascendant may make him an egoistic person. Mars is the 12th lord and he is debilitated. So the native lacks humility. The debilitation of the 7th lord and situation of the 8th lord and Rahu in the 7th indicate harsh behaviour and lack of diplomacy. The Moon in a fiery sign, affliction of the 4th lord Sun by Ketu and affliction of the Moon's dispositor by Rahu in the 12th house from the Moon indicate mental peace may be lacking to a large degree.

On the positive side, the Ascendant lord Venus, Yogakaraka Saturn and the 2nd and 5th lord Mercury in the 9th house form an array of brilliant Yogas. The 10th house falls in the Moolatrikona of the strongest planet in this Yoga, Saturn, and this has paved the way for his good social standing. This Yoga has also blessed him with religious piety, despite the drawbacks of ego.

6. Conclusion
I believe that Parasara considered divisional charts to be as basic an ingredient in the scheme of Jyotisha as are planets, signs and houses. Nakshatramsa, which is not widely employed by contemporary astrologers has been found to shed light on one's nature, attitude, inherent strengths and weaknesses. Some examples substantiating these observations been presented in this paper. It is hoped learned readers will develop further on these findings and use them for the betterment of the world.

Study of Divisional Charts

The importance of divisional charts has been increased than ever during these days. More and more astrologers are researching the possibilities of the divisional charts. Even if, it is a complicated subject they give amazing information about our lives. As a practicing astrologer, what have seen is reading divisional chart helps you to pinpoint the issues and events of the native’s life. It adds more value to the Rasi and Navamsa chart.

The main problem while reading the divisional chart is lack of accurate birth timing. Divisional chart changes fast, so its lagna and other planetary positions also will change if the birth time is not accurate. As my teacher said, he had only found one accurate birth timing because the native’s father was a doctor who was present in the labour room during the delivery. According to my experience, we will get a lot of insights from the sign placements too.

Chart

These are the divisional charts used in the Parashara system of astrology. The Rasi chart is the main chart and we have to connect everything in divisional chart with the main chart.

Suppose, the Jupiter is in Mool Trikona in main chart and in Dasamsa chart, it is debilitated. Dasamsa or D-10 chart is the chart for career. When you see debilitated Jupiter in Dasamsa, you should understand that at workplace people will fear him and he may be a bad boss.

In D-10 chart, we should see how your 10th house is placed. The condition of the 10th lord will be very important. In any chart and every chart the Kendra houses are the crucial ones. If the Kendra houses are with good planets, then the condition of career will be good. The analysis of Rashi chart will give you the inputs about the career and D-10 will show how your career will be progressing. If the Kendra houses are good, then there will be benefit from career.  At the same time, what are the benefic planets that vary according to each lagna. So for full analysis of career we have to check from the lagna, the Sun and the Moon and the 10th house of the lagna. The Sun and the Moon in main chart, navamsa and D-10 reveals a lot of secrets about your career.

Other divisional charts should be examined like this. If you don’t have your accurate time of birth, follow the signs. Study the chart from the Sun sign and the Moon sign. And count and analyse the 10th house from the Sun and the Moon.

How Jupiter's Transit in Libra Affects You?

Jupiter, the planet of magnification, expansion, and spirituality will be moving into the sign of Libra by September. Jupiter is known as the most auspicious planet in astrology and it is a natural benefic. Wherever it is placed or moves it will bring the best part of that house and sign.

Libra is the 7th sign in the natural zodiac wheel and it represents unity in the relationships, love, marriage, business contracts and open enemies. This sign is ruled by Venus. When Jupiter starts its plight through Libra, universally there will be a lot of focus on personal and professional relationships. All over the world, there will be a greater focus on the interpersonal relationships. The focus will be in bringing unity and peace for all.

In the coming days, people will be interested in business liaisons. More contracts and agreements can also come up.

Aries will see that their 7th house personal and professional sector got much focus. Most of the Aries people will start new relationships in the personal and professional domain

Taurus will see that their 6th house of health, work, liabilities and colleagues is activated. Their focus will be in work, health and debts. This is a good time to bring magnification into your work sector.

Geminis will have an activated 5th house of romance, entertainment, fun, children, youth groups, creativity, self-promotion and speculative business. Opportunities for new romance and own ventures also will come up.

Cancerians will have a good time with their family as their 4th house of home, family, ancestors, parents and ancestral property will get activated. Real estate deals, renovation or family functions can come up.

Leos will have an activated 3rd house of short trips, short courses, training, siblings, media, technology, electronics, and writing. They may be busy in communications and work from the communication sector. They may even buy new electronic equipment.

Virgos will have an activated 2nd house of money, self-worth, family, speech and material assets. They may think about doing a new course. They have to be very frugal. Money shortage can come in.

Librans will be very happy as this planet will be grazing through the 1st house of self, perspective, ambitions, physical body, and personality. They will spend time in over optimism, so please try to be realistic. Opportunities for marriage or a new relationship can come in.

Scorpios will see that their subconscious mind is highly active as Jupiter is moving through the 12th house of hidden fears, emotions, psyche, isolation, seclusion, long distance travels spirituality and charity. You will have to take care of your health and happiness. This is a good time to deal with your emotional issues.

Sagittarius will have new friends or they will join new long-term projects as Jupiter will trigger the 11th house of friendships, collective projects, long-term associations, children, youth groups, hopes, wishes, and gains. You may even work with children and youth groups. Visible changes in the group settings are seen.

Capricorns will be forced to work hard as Jupiter will be in their 10th house. This is not a great place for them as Jupiter loses its strength as the 10th house is a negative house for Jupiter. The 10th house represents career, social status, bosses, authority, and ambitions. So, you are requested to be more responsible in the social front.

Aquarians will get new opportunities to travel long distances as their 9th house of foreign travels, foreign relations, higher studies, teaching, publishing, spirituality, and philosophy will be triggered by Jupiter. You may study a new skill. Interest towards spirituality and charity also will come up.

Pisces will be benefited by some loans and financial aid. At the same time, they can expect financial struggles and emotional issues as Jupiter is triggering the 8th house of sex, crisis, investments, finances, taxes, insurances, partnerships and loans. So, please don’t let any burdens suffocate you.

Rahu-Ketu Axis and Health Problems

Common Knowledge
From time immemorial the effect of Rahu and Ketu has been known to man whenever the Moon or the Sun comes in conjunction with these shadowy planets. He has known that this conjunction known commonly as eclipse has an effect on digestion and pregnancy. A pregnant woman was forbidden from seeing an eclipse. All were supposed to fast until the eclipse ended.

Apart from these effects of Rahu and Ketu, the ancient Rishis have also attributed many diseases to these shadowy planets. For instance, Rahu produces phobias, stammering, chronic diseases like leprosy and tumors, serpent bites, abortions, child deaths etc., and to Ketu are attributed low blood pressure, accidents, phobias, worms, skin diseases etc.

Though the individual effects of these planets have been studied by various authors of the past and present, no exhaustive study of the effects on health of this axis in the natal chart has been made. This prompted me to collect horoscopes for such a study. I have studied the effects in all the 12 houses and I have also noted the findings of ancient Rishis and astrological seers of the past and present and I present this paper for the benefit of readers. The study is by no means exhaustive though I have made a sincere effort to focus the effect on as many aspects as possible.

Rahu Ketu in 1-7 Houses
Before touching on the effects on health it is necessary to study the mental make-up of the person and other environmental conditions that may affect health. Natives with this combination will have a peculiar nature and it will not be possible to easily gauge the person. One may suffer from an inferiority complex, fear of being neglected by near and dear ones and society; he also suffers some deformity, may be to a minor degree. One will have secret aspirations leading to frustration. With such a complex psyche, melancholia, depression, peptic ulcers, and even hysteria can develop in one. As this axis falls in the 1st and the 7th, the person is very passionate and suffers due to lack of sex gratification. One may be difficult to get along with because one is a silent-and-difficult-to-please type. If there is a full Kalasarpa Yoga in these houses, it becomes a very unfortunate condition and such people die in dire circumstances.
Susceptible Ages: 7th, 13th, 18th, 26th, 38th, 45th and 60th years.

• Rahu-Ketu in 2-8 Houses
The native of such a combination is a victim of circumstances leading to pecuniary troubles and involvement in accidents and may be bedridden for a long time. One may have stammering and suffer due to one's foul tongue and quick temper. One develops blood pressure and is disliked by his family members. At the age of 12 years he suffers from pox (chicken pox or measles) which leaves bad scars.

One will have an inferiority complex with regard to his sexual ability and is often cold and clammy to touch. One suffers from high fevers and aches which mostly remain undiagnosed. One has to spend a lot on health and as well as on one's dependents. This further causes nervous disorders and ultimately nervous breakdown. The effects are mitigated if there is an aspect of Jupiter to this axis, either on Rahu or Ketu. If there is complete Kalasarpa Yoga operating in these houses one ends up in an asyslum.
Susceptible Ages : 10th, 15th. 20th, 23rd. 42nd, 53rd and 59th years.

• Rahu-Ketu in 3-9 Houses
Those with this combination are often misunderstood by their own kith and kin and are accused of ulterior motives. One does care for one's health but is highly susceptible to criticism and suffers from blood pressure. One's own kith and-kin will cause trouble and even the father may disown such a person. One is fond of wandering and suffers often due to breakdown of vehicles as one owns rickety vehicles. One poses themselves as rich and powerful. One also suffers much due to not taking advantage of circumstances and thus suffers mentally. One is quixotic in temperament; blowing hot and cold and succumbing ultimately to pressure. This trait makes one unpopular. One usually suffers from chronic diseases and fevers. I have found many with such a combination addicted to heavy smoking and developing bronchitis. If full Kalasarpa Yoga operates in these houses, they may die in poverty away from home.

Though this is the opposite of the first combination it does not mean that the effects will also be the opposite.
A native of such a horoscope is a wanderer. Superficial in one's work and careless, one often revolts against authorities. One is easy going and does not care much even for one's own welfare. One however takes extra care of one's health, but often gets into minor accidents and suffers broken bones. Such a combination often uproots one from the hearth and home in quest of opportunities. One may shine in many fields but is often unreliable and makes more enemies than friends. One suffers from boils, ulcers and diabetes. Though active, one's activity has to be adjusted according to health. Usually a chronic sufferer, one maintains a cheerful outlook on life."One suffers from insect bites, malaria or filaria in some cases. If complete Kalasarpa Yoga is present, he suffers from liver diseases due to drinking and dies after much suffering.
Susceptible Ages: 3rd, 8th, 13th, 19th, 33rd, 40th, 48th, 58th and 62nd years.

The effects of the Rahu-Ketu axis described here are not exhaustive. Individually Rahu and Ketu cause certain diseases in certain houses. The susceptible age for the effect of the Rahu- Ketu axis is worked out on case histories and it cannot be treated as infallible. The age mentioned is only sensitive to the effects, but actual suffering may be mitigated or nullified, if there is an aspect of Jupiter on Rahu, Ketu or the Ascendant. Though articles on Kalasarpa Yoga Yoga have appeared in these pages, I have mentioned this Yoga only in relation to diseases and death.

The Ingenious Vimshottari Dasa System Part IA

Origin in Surya Siddanta

The Hindu Zodiac is based on the ingeniousness of Varahamihira. It appears that later developments in Hora Sastra were totally borrowed from the work of Varahamihira as mentioned in the old Surya Siddhanta or the modern Surya Siddanta. Vimshottari Dasa is also one of them.

Some of the ancient textual premises on which the modern edifice of Indian astrology is built are:-
(i)The oldest division of the Zodiac.
(ii)The Aryabhata system of division of the Zodiac.
(iii)The Varahamihira system of division of the Zodiac.

Oldest Division of Zodiac
The ancient Zodiac was divided into 9 parts and each part consisted of 3 Nakshatras. The arc of each division was 40° 0'. And the Nakshatra series began from Dhanishta . And the rising point (Lagna) was fixed in terms of the Nakshatra and the rising Nakshatra was determined counting from Sravistha (Dhanista). The nine divisions of the ancient the Zodiac are shown in Table I.

Zodiacal Divisions
Table 1

This division is attributed to sage Satyacharya and was later employed as a predictive tool in Sarvatobhadra Chakra. Varahamihira too has mentioned the name of Satya in the Varaha Jataka (Brihat Jataka). This shows that sage Satyacharya was anterior to Varahamihira. The Hindus calculated all measurements in Tropical years. Let us see the genesis of the tropical Zodiac in the ancient treatise Vedanga Jyotisha of Sage Lagdha, also known as Magdha.

प्रपघेते श्रृविष्टादौ  सूर्याचंद्रमसावुदक |
सार्पघे दक्षिणार्कस्तु माघ श्रावणयोः ||
(Vedanga Yajur Jyotisha Sloka 7 )
The purport of this Sloka is that Winter Solstice begins at the beginning of Sravistha (Dhanista) and Summer Solstice in the middle of Aslesha in the months of Magha and Sravana respectively. This Sloka indicates the placement of the Solsticial colure in Aslesha and Dhanista Nakshatras coinciding with the beginning of Dakshinayana and Uttarayana respectively or more precisely Karka Kranti and Makara Kranti. However it is to be noted that the Sloka nowhere speaks about the entrance of the Sun into either Capricorn sign or Cancer sign as marking the beginning of the Winter Solstice or Summer Solstice. The Sloka presents the actual position of the beginning of the Solstice. This ancient Sloka shows the Hindu measurement of the auspicious day through the Tropical Zodiac.

According to Parasara Samhita
यघप्राप्तो वैष्णव मुदगमार्ग प्रपघते |
दक्षिणमाश्लेषम वा महाभयय इति ||

When the Sun having reached the end of Sravana in the northern path, he still advances or half of Aslesha in the southern, he still advances, it is a cause of great fear.

According to Vriddha Garga,
यदा निवर्ततते प्राप्तो
धानेष्टामुत्तारणे |
अश्लेषम दक्षिण प्राप्तस्तदा
विन्ध्याम्महृदयं  इति ||

When the Sun returns, not having reached Dhanista in the northern solstice, or not having reached Aslesha in the southern, then let a man feal great apprehension of danger.

In both Slokas, Parasara as well as Vriddha Garga seem to be confounded with the event which was giving quite contrary results. The Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice were determined with the help of the shadow of the Sun. At both the points of the Solstices, the Sun's shadow becomes zero and maximum respectively, which implies the beginning of the respective Ayana. The Sun's shadow used to become zero at the middle of Aslesha at the time of the Vedanga Jyotisha period, which was indicative of the beginning of the Ayana. After that, the Sun's shadow would increase day by day and reached its maximum length at the beginning of Dhanista Nakshatra or at the end of Sravana Nakshatra.

During the time of Parasara and Vridha Garga, these positions got changed. And they observed that the shadow of the Sun, which should become zero at the middle of Aslesha was still increasing. And the same phenomenon was also taking place at the beginning of Dhanista Nakshatra where it should have become maximum.

This clearly shows that in ancient times the Hindu Zodiac was Tropical, not Sidereal. Had the Hindu Zodiac been Sidereal, Parasara as well as Garga would have not written these Slokas and both would have been content with the entry of the Sun into Cancer sign as marking the beginning of the Summer Solstice. But both did not recognize the Sidereal entry of the Sun either into Cancer or Capricorn as the beginning of the respective Ayana.
                                                                                                                      to be continued....

The Ingenious Vimshottari Dasa System - Part IB

Aryabhata's division of Zodiac
In the Aryabhata system, with the introduction of the Rasi system, the ecliptic was divided into 12 equal parts. Each equal part contained two Nakshatra. There were 24 Nakshatras and total number of  NakshatraPadas(quarters) in one sign equalled 8 Padas. In this way the total number of NakshatraPadas was 8x12=96 Padas.

This type of division has been inferred from Arya Siddhanta of Aryabhata where he has given the maximum limit of Equinox as oscillating 24° on either side as shown in Figure I.
Figure1

A to B is 90°. B to C is again 90°. Thus the whole ecliptic is divided into 4 quarters or 90° x 4 = 360°. Aryabhata says that the Equinox moves 24° from point A to point B. The value diminishes from B to C and becomes zero at point C and again increases from C to D and diminishes from D to A becoming zero at A.

In this way the Equinox moves the entire circle sometimes up and sometimes down, thus orbiting a total of 24 x 4 = 96°.
The Aryabhata system consists of 96 Nakshatra Padas and the Equinox moves 96°in total. Therefore Aryabhata equates one degree of Precession to one Nakshatra Pada.
In Figure 1, A to B demarcates 3 signs or Aries, Taurus and Gemini. Point B to C demarcates 3 signs Cancer, Leo and Virgo. C to D includes Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius while D to A shows Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Each sign consists of 8 Padas as per the scheme of Aryabhata. Therefore three signs consist of 8x 3 = 24 Padas.
In this way the maximum movement of the Equinox was determined to be 24°. The maximum years allotted to the Equinox to move the entire circle was given as 7472 years.
Thus one quarter of that period
= 7472 x 1 / 4 = 1868 years.
That is, the Equinox would take 1868 years to traverse 24° in each quarter either increasing or decreasing in value.
The movement of the Equinox was linked with the Nakshatras and Rasis in the following way:-
(a)Point A to B, Point B to C, Point C to D, Point D to A are Equinoctial and Solsticial points. The distance between these points is equal to 3 signs.
(b)Each sign contains 8 Nakshatra Padas. Therefore there are 24 Padas of Nakshatras between each Equinoctial and Solstical points. Therefore the four points contain 24 x 4 = 96 Padas.

The 96 Padas are equal to 96° movement of the Equinox. It means one degree Equinox precedes one Pada of Nakshatra.
(c)The series consists of 24 Nakshatras as shown in Table II

(e)Each Nakshatra in the above series was given an arc of 15°.
360/24 = 15°. It is also to be noted that the Earth rotates 15° in one hour i.e. one Nakshatra was in fact the time to represent the rotation of the Earth. The Nakshatra, in ancient astronomy, was used as an unit of time.

Varahamihira's Division of Zodiac
Varahamihira developed his own system.
(i)Varahamihira wanted to integrate Rasi, Nakshatras, planets, ecliptic etc., in his system.
(ii)In order to integrate the whole system to make it the compendium of Hora Sastra, he addressed the discrepancies found in the work of Aryabhata, which otherwise well suited his own system.
(iii)He first connected the planets to the Nakshatras. But it was difficult for him to connect either the 7 or the 9 planets to 24 Nakshatras. Though he tried to connect the 9 planets to 24 Nakshatras, he noticed certain discrepancies. Leo sign as per Aryabhata's system included Phalguni and Hasta Nakshatras. Aries sign had Krittika and Rohini in it. If the Sun and the Moon were given the lordship of these Nakshatras respectively, then in Leo there was no Nakshatra to give the lordship of the Sun because if Phalguni was given the lordship of Venus, then in successive order the Nakshatra was missing to be given the lordship of the Sun.
(iv)Thus noticing the above discrepancy he divided Phalguni, Ashadha and Bhadrapada into two parts each. Thus he prepared a new series of 27 Nakshatras .
(v)In this new series, each sign contained 9 Padas of Nakshatras or 2 % Nakshatras with each Nakshatra being 13° 20' of arc.
(vi)He, then proceeded to assign the Nakshatras under the domain of planets.
(vii)The new system had 27° Precession instead of Aryabhata's 24°. The Equinox of Varahamihira moved 108° unlike 96° of Aryabhata.

A comparision of the two systems is made in Table IV

Varahamihira connected the whole system to his system of astronomy.
Figure 2

a) He connected the Precession of the Equinoxes to epicycles on par with Aryabhata but with different values.
b)He most probably measured the Precession of planetary Nodes in the epicycle.
c)He connected divine years to human years in order to determine the planetary years for the purpose of the Vimshottari Dasa system.
d)In this new system the planetary lordship of Nakshatras was established.Since the Vernal Equinox was placed in Krittika then, the Hindu naming of months was recognized; therefore Krittika Nakshatra was given the lordship of the Sun followed by that of the Moon and then of the inner and outer planets in successive order. For example, the Vernal Equinox in Krittika was heralded as the beginning of the year (RigVeda considers Krittika to be the mouth of the year) as well as Krittika always rising in the East was assigned to be the Nakshatra of the Sun. The second Nakshatra after Krittika or Rohni was considered to be that of the Moon, the most enchanting heavenly body in ancient times. Mars the most illuminated red planet, being very close to the earth was given the next place or the lordship of Mrigasira. Then the intersection of the Moon's orbit with the Sun's orbit gave birth to the North Node or Rahu. The lordship of Aridra was given to Rahu and so on. The whole Nakshatra series with planetary lordships was arranged in three batches, each batch containing nine Nakshatras denoting 9 planets as shown in table 5.

Viparita Raja Yoga

Viparita Raja Yoga

Viparita Rajayogas are of course Rajayogas but these great yogas arise from the struggles. There are three Viparita a Raja Yogas - Harsha, Sarala, and Vimala. You have to go through negative events and gain success by overcoming that negativity.

For this yoga, we count negative houses, ie, dursthana houses. They are 6, 8, and 12. These 3 houses are known to be negative houses in the chart. They are dealing with financial, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual burdens.

For example, your 6th house deals with disputes, diseases and injuries, debts, enemies, opponents, competitors, thieves, fears, doubts, worries, vices, and weaknesses. The 8th house represents longevity, inner and outer transformations, death, easy gains, marital-tie, vulnerability, fear, accidents, litigation, bankruptcy, misfortunes, disgrace, and disappointments. The 12th house represents expenses, losses, life in foreign lands, obstructions in life, separation from family, withdrawal into retreat, transcendence, enlightenment, seclusion, imprisonment, hospitalization, and loneliness. These houses and the house lords are the ones who play the main role in the formation of this yoga.

Harsha Yoga
When the lord of 6th is placed in the 6th, 8th and in the 12th house, then it forms the Harsha yoga. So, the person will face obstacles from 6th, 8th and 12th house matters. They will give him issues, but he will defeat all those enemies and inimical situations and get a lot of gains.

Sarala Yoga
When the 8th lord is placed in the 6th, 8th or 12th house, then the Sarala Yoga springs up.

Vimala Yoga
When the 12th lord placed in the 6th, 8th, and 12th houses, then the Vimala Yoga exists.

Important features of Viparita Rajayoga
The planet which rules the houses are very important. Their situation and nakshathra placement also should be considered. The 6th, 8th and 12th houses are negative houses. The logic in astrology is that a negative planet in a negative house provides good protection to that house.

Planets like Moon, Venus and Jupiter are totally a kind of mild planets and they don’t like to deal with negative situations. They are meek and lowly. They always like to be tension free.
So, if you have a harsh planet like Mars, Saturn, Rahu or Ketu is in these houses, then it should be a kind of positive indication as they show that you are highly resistant. That doesn’t mean that your life is totally gone if your 6th, 8th, 12th lord is Moon, Venus, or Jupiter.

All house lords want to protect their own house. That’s why Lagna lord is always seen as positive. The positive results will diminish if they are in retrogression or debilitation in the case of Lagna.
Strong planets are ideal to be the house lords in Viparita  Raja Yogas.  There are so many good things arising from this Viparita  Raja yogas. The ideal Viparita  Raja yoga will be 6th lord in the 6th, 8th lord in the 8th and 12th lord in 12th.

If you see these yogas in your chart, then you should rejoice, that you have a great amount of hope even if you are going through a lot of struggles. These yogas assure you that the good times are near and they may come to you during the Mahadasa and Antardasa of the house lord which forms Viparita  Yogas.

Feng Shui and I-Ching in Chinese Astrology is so famous, Why?

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese technique of creating harmony with one’s surroundings or nature. It’s an art of arranging the surroundings and improving the positive influence of the Earth/Nature. The word Feng Shui literally means Wind & Water which are the two fundamental elements of life. Feng Shui deals with the energy or feel of a place that can be positive/good or negative/bad. The Chinese refer this energy as Chi and a positive Chi flow is essential for a happy and prosperous living. Negative Chi is inauspicious and the art of Feng Shui offers cures that improve the surrounding to bring a more positive flow of energy.

Feng Shui & Astrology
Every individual on Earth is being influenced by Astrology and Feng Shui forces. While Astrology deals with the positions of celestial bodies and their influence, Fend Shui deals with the benefic and malefic influences of Earth itself. For a person in inactive or stable condition, Feng Shui influence will be steady while the astrological influences keep on fluctuating. But when the person moves or travels, changes will occur on Feng Shui forces too. Hence there are some areas where these two sciences come together.

Feng Shui in architecture
Feng Shui is mainly applied in architecture; in the designing of houses, office space, factory and even cities. This traditional Chinese technique can greatly assist you in making your dream home a very favorable and healthy adobe. Feng Shui can guide you in choosing the appropriate land, in arranging the furniture and interiors and in setting up the garden, thereby assuring the surroundings to be in harmony with you. For analyzing the influences of heavenly bodies and Earth and to ascertain their balance, time and direction need to be known which are calculated using calendar and compass respectively.
When a home is being built or a family moves to a new house, certain factors need to be considered for ensuring the positive Feng Shui. These include locations of the living room, kitchen, bedroom, study room, dining room, bathroom etc. In order to identify the favourable directions and orientations, the Feng Shui consultant considers the client horoscope too. The Feng Shui for the whole household is planned according to the horoscope of the head of the family. The consultant makes calculations on the basis of the date of birth of the family head and uses the Lo P'an or grid plate instrument to establish the balance between astrological and Feng Shui forces. Thus he allocates the functions of each room.
The compass school of Feng Shui finds applications outside the stream of architecture too, which include finding the right direction for starting a journey and finding the favourable days and auspicious times.

Pa-Kua Number
This is very important in the calculation of Feng Shui and is evaluated for a person, using his Date of birth in the Lunar Calendar. Besides Feng Shui, the Kua Number is also used for determining compatibility between partners, spouses and children. The number varies for men and women as it rotates clockwise for men and anti-clockwise for women.

Kua Number Calculation
 For Females:
-Add the last two digits of the year of birth and bring it to a single digit number.
-Add 5 to this single digit number if the person is born before the year 2000. For those born after 2000, add 6 to the single digit number.
-Bring the resulting number to single digit again, if needed.
-This is the Kua Number of the person!

Eg: Kua number calculation for a female born in 1998.
Adding the last two digits of the year: 9 + 8 = 17
Reducing it to a single digit number: 1 + 7 = 8
Adding 5 to the single digit number: 5 + 8 = 13
Reducing it to single digit: 1 + 3 = 4

So, the Kua number of a female born in 1998 is 4.
 For Males:
-Add the last two digits of the year of birth and bring it to a single digit number.
-Deduct this single digit number from 10 for those born before 2000. For those born after 2000, deduct the single digit number from 9.
-This is the Kua Number of the person

N.B. For a male born in 2009 and 2018, the Kua Number will be 9.

Eg: Kua number calculation for a male born in 1965.

Adding the last two digits of the year: 6 + 5 = 11
Reducing it to a single digit number: 1 + 1 = 2
Deducting this single digit number from 10: 10 - 2 = 8

So, the Kua number of a male born in 1965 is 8.

Lo Shu Grid
The Lo Shu Grid or Magic Square forms the basis of Chinese architectural planning. It contains nine squares each filled with a number from 1 to 9, symbolizing the natural order of the universe. The numbers of the square will add up to 15 irrespective of the way in which they are tallied.

Trigrams

When two Trigrams are formed together (i.e. 6 lines) they create a Hexagram of specific meaning. Thus, there are 64  Hexagrams formed by the combinations of Trigrams. The way this science works is with 3 coins with a head as an unbroken line and tail as a broken line tossed 6 times and based on their formation one of the 64 Trigrams is formed.

The Trigrams symbolize and represent a Trinity of world principles, i.e. Subject (man), in the middle place, the Object having the form (Earth), which is in the lowest place and the Content (Heaven) in the top place.

Parenting Tips Through Child's Astrology

Children are seen through the 5th house in the astrology chart. Jupiter is the significator for children while the Sun indicates the father and the Moon indicates the mother. While researching about parenting, it is very important to look at the 2nd and 4th house of home and family too.

These are the signs rules the 5th house for each Lagna and its ruler

Aries: Leo: Sun
Taurus: Virgo: Mercury
Gemini: Libra; Venus
Cancer: Scorpio: Mars
Leo: Sagittarius: Jupiter
Virgo: Capricorn: Saturn
Libra: Aquarius: Saturn
Scorpio: Pisces: Jupiter
Sagittarius: Aries: Mars
Capricorn: Taurus: Venus
Aquarius: Gemini: Mercury
Pisces: Cancer: Moon

According to your lagna, the 5th sign and the planet which represents is the first clue for your children. The nature of the planet, the sign and the house which it is placed, and if you are an advance astrology lover, then you can go into the details of the nakshathra as well. When these planets are in a compromising placement, that surely indicates difficulty in a parent child relationship.

In a child’s chart, when the lagna lord’s relationship with the Sun and Moon is compromised, then there will be relationship issues or struggles in the relationship.

As Astro-psychology is a growing stream these days, there is a lot of research going on to identify the characteristics of people through a mix of astrology and psychology. According to this stream people are supposed to have different temperaments. Temperament can show you what the personality traits are.

Choleric (bad-tempered): Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Melancholy(feeling of sadness ): Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Sanguine ( optimistic or positive): Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Phlegmatic (having an unemotional and stolidly calm disposition ): Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Choleric: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
If your child’s Lagna is coming under a choleric sign, they are more self-reliant. You should note that these signs are fire and male signs ruled by male planets, Mars, Sun and Jupiter respectively.  A choleric child may not like restrictions. This child will like to move ahead on his own. It is always good to have self-reliant, but there should be some restrictions. The Fire element   should be controlled through mother’s love and father’s advice. Relationship with father can be seen through the placement of the Sun and relationship of mother can be seen through the placement of the Moon. Find whether the Sun and the Moon are in good place with the lagna and lagna lord.

For, these signs their 4th house of mother and family is ruled by water signs and the 9th house of the father is ruled by fire signs also. So, naturally these children coming under fire element the relationship with the mother and father can be very transformative. When a fire element dominated child goes to his mother who is dominated by the water element naturally there can be a combustion. So, the mother will have to go an extra mile in keeping unity with this child.

Melancholy: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
These signs are earth signs, they are fixed sign so, the child will take time to transform. He may not like sudden changes in the existing system and they may like to go an extra mile in bringing perfection into their life. They may not be reflected or responsive like fire or air signs, they like to be themselves. This passion for perfection can bring a lot of critical analysis into their genes and parents may feel that the child is not respecting their efforts. These children may like to be their own and others can feel that they are introverts. Parents should understand that they all need to upgrade themselves as this is the time of digital natives. These children always like to update them if the lagna lords are in good placement.

The 4th house of mother and family for these kids are ruled by fire signs and the 9th house of father is ruled by earth signs. The general nature of the compatibility between children and parents can be seen through the friendship rate between the lagna lord of child and lord of 4th and the 9th house.

Sanguine: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
These are air signs and these signs represents happiness and sociable nature like air being free flowing. These kids are generally happy, fashionable and sociable, which is a very good character, but parents should be very alert in understanding them as their social circle can be very wide. Parents must be always being youngsters to meet reach the expectations of this child. An old-fashioned parent may not be a success in guiding your Sanguine child.

The 4th house of mother and family Sanguine child is ruled by earth sign, which is a sign for introversion and critical analysis and desire for perfection. Relationship with mother can become complex for this child. Mother can be perfectionist, but the child is easy going and they don’t come within the control of the mother easily because the child is ruled by air element. The 9th house of father is air element itself, so they naturally are drawn towards their father. So, for them father is highly influential in their life. So, the father should take the lead.

Phlegmatic: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
These are water signs and the kids will have a phlegmatic temperament. Cancer is shallow water, Scorpio is the deep waters and Pisces is the deepest. These kids may not like to get disturbed. They just want to flow as they are. There is one funda behind treating this child.

The 4th house of mother and family for these kind of kids are ruled by air signs and the 9th house of father is ruled by Water signs. For  these kids, their relationship with the parents will be highly transformative.

The Saturn-Mercury clue in Skin Diseases

Did you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body? It is, in terms of both weight between 6 and 9 pounds and surface area about 2 square yards! Your skin separates the inside of your body from the outside world. It protects you from bacteria and viruses and regulates your body temperature.

What are the astrological factors that govern skin-related medical conditions?

Role of Saturn and Mercury
Saturn and Mercury account for almost all type - of skin diseases and disorders. Additionally the Ascendant (general mental and physical health), the 2nd house (face, pimples on face, facial scars), the 6th house sickness - acts as a trigger for disease), Saturn (natural significator of skin, age-reared problems, eczema, incurable diseases), the Moon (blood impurity, anaemia), the Venus (beauty of skin), the Mercury (stress in life, skin problems), the Mars (boils, rashes, allergies, measles), the Jupiter's influence on the 11th house or 11th lord or both (Jupiter ruling metabolism and toxicity) and a Mercury - Saturn link all come into play when examining a horoscope for skin ail-ments.
Saturn provides for the drying of the surface epidermis, the prevention of excessive blood flow and the slowing down of nerve signals (such as pain, pressure, vibration).

Astrological Factors
The 6th house factors listed above need to be identified along with the Mercury - Saturn link. The Moon and Jupiter play a role in cases of weeping eczema and other blistering skin diseases-Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a long term skin disease. The most common symptom are dry and itchy skin, rashes on the face, aside like elbows, behind the knees and on the hands and feet. Currently, there is no single test to diagnose eczema, so doctors rely on information about the patient and his family.

The 6th lord Mercury in Chart 1 is involved in an exchange of signs with the lord of the (Ascendant physical body). The 8th lord Sun is in the Ascendant with the 5 th and 10th lord Venus or significator of beauty of skin, and Mecury, significator of skin problems. There is exchange of the 6th lord with the Ascendant cum 2nd lord Saturn (significator of skin). The relationship thus established is a clear indicator of some skin related problem which in this case is eczema.

Saturn as the 8th lord aspects the Ascendant lord Mercury fulfilling the main condition of the Saturn-Mercury link, often the chief indication of skin problems. Venus is also in Saturn's sign and the Moon under the influence of the 6th lord. This is a case of weeping eczema due to involvement of Jupiter and. the Moon.

Vitiligo and leucoderma are two different terms but used for the same kind of skin disease.
Leucoderma known as white patches is due to the absence of melanin pigmentation in the skin.
However, vitiligo can be due to improper hygiene, unhealthy food combinations, regular intake of junk food, insecticide and pesticide treated green vegetables taken regularly, past history of jaundice or typhoid fever, harsh antibiotic use etc. An important cause of vitiligo could be sudden emotional trauma and stress.
Due to one reason or a combination of the reasons, toxins are formed inside the body which disturb the immune system which results in autoimmunity (a condition in which the immune system of the body destroys its own cells and tissues). This autoimmunity is the basic important reason for vitiligo according to both Ayurvedic as well as Allopathic systems of medicine.

Chart 3: Female : Born August 15, 2002 at 10h.12m. at Bedford, United Kingdom (52 N 06, 0 W 27)
Chart 3
Vitiligo: The 6th lord Saturn in Chart 3 aspects Mercury, the chief significator of skin diseases, while debilated and combust Mars aspects the Moon, Mercury here is the lord of the Ascendant or, physical body. In Navamsa. Saturn is conjunct Mercury and is placed in the 6th house. The child was found to suffer from vitiligo in 2004 in the Dasa of Jupiter (the planet of expansion) who is a malefic and Badhaka as he owns two Kendras and in the Bhukti of the Moon, the dispositor of Jupiter, Sun and Mars. The Moon is aspected by debilated Mars. Jupiter in the 11th is in expansion mode and therefore aggravates the spread of the disease during his Dasa and Bhukti.

Melanoma is a severe and potentially life- threatening skin cancer and its symptoms put briefly are
(i) Asymmetry: the shape of one half does not match the other;
(ii) Border: the edges are ragged, blurred, or irregular;
(iii) Color, the color is uneven and may include shades of black, brown, and tan; and

Saturn establishes a link with Venus and the Moon . In most of the cases of cancer Saturn as significator of wasting and degenerative disease either aspects the Moon, Venus or both. In Navamsa Saturn and the Moon again share the same sign.

Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes scalling and swelling with patches of thick, red and silvery scales. These patches can itch or feel sore.
Apart from the usual astrological factors, Rahu and Ketu are also important for sudden onset of the disease.

Chart 5:Male:Born February 14, 1971 at 22 h.35 m.at Patiala (30 N 19, 76 E 24)

Psoriasis: The Ascendant lord Mercury is in the 5th aspected by the 6th lord from the 8th house in Chart 5. The Saturn-Mercury combination is responsible for the skin condition. Jupiter is in the Nakshatra of Saturn.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The two most common types are basal cell cancer and squamous cell cancer which usually strike the head, face, neck, hands and arms.

Chart 6: Male : Born July 14, 1933 at 8h. 15m. at Montreal. Canada (45 N 30, 73 W 35)
Chart 6

As regards the cancer striking the skin Saturn is in aspect with Mercury and Venus in the 12th house. The Ascendant lord Sun is aspected by malefic Rahu. In Navamsa Saturn is again aspecting Venus.
